- Can you give me directions to St John's (Parish Center)?
Downtown to Leesburg on Market Street to the Courthouse.
Traveling west, make a right on to King Street, and go down
about 3 blocks (past the Little White Church--St Johns)
and make a right on to Oakcrest Manor Drive across from
Union Cemetery/Ida Lee Park. We also have an online map.
- Where Are You Located?
101 Oakcrest Manor Drive in Leesburg, Virginia.
- I live in Ashburn. Why can't I register at St. John's?
You have to be within the boundaries of the parish you want
to register with. Boundaries are set by the Arlington Dicese.
Ashburn is within the boundaries of St. Teresa's. You have
to live in Leesburg to register at St. John's.
- I live in Leisure World - Leesburg, why do I have
to be in St. Teresa's boundaries and not St John's?
Boundaries are set by the Arlington Diocese.
- Are you the only Catholic Church in Leesburg?
Yes.
- Why don't you have pews and kneelers instead of chairs?
The Parish Center is also a multi-purpose hall, so the chairs
are moveable.
- When are the masses held in the Little Church?
Masses are held in the Little Church on the corner of King
Street and Union Street every weekday (Monday through
Friday)
at 8:30 a.m. and noon, and on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
- What are the times of your Sunday masses?
Saturday Vigil mass is at 5:30 p.m. The Sunday masses are
at 7:00 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and
1:00 p.m..
- What is the procedure to get a baby baptized?
First, you must be a Leesburg resident, and a registered
member of St John's (forms are available at the parish
office).
You must register for the Baptism Preparation class, which
is normally held on the second Tuesday of each month
at
7:00 p.m. at the Parish Center. Call the office and fill
out (verbally) the registration form for Baptism, and
have
the godparents provide a sponsorship certificate from their
parish. Baptisms are held on Sundays at 2:30 p.m.
- How do I register my child(ren) for Religious Education
Classes?
Call (703) 777-3891 to register your child(ren).
- How do I join St. John's?
New Member registration forms are outside the parish office
on a table. There is a return box on the table also. You
must be a Leesburg resident.
- I would like to get married at St. John's. How can
I arrange this?
You must be a Leesburg resident, and a registered member
of St. John's Church. Usually, weddings take place on Saturdays
(there are several time slots). Call the parish office (703)
777-1317 to set up an appointment for an interview.
- If a family member is homebound, how can I arrange
for Holy Communion at home?
A Eucharistic Minister will be pleased to bring Communion
to your homebound person on a weekly basis, even if they
are only temporarily prevented from getting to church.
