File Format -- PDF (Adobe)
PDF stands for Portable Document Format. This file format
allows users to view and print highly complex documents that
retain their original formatting. These files are commonly
used for publications that are not easily translated into
HTML.
We use PDF files to enhance the usability of documents,
to make documents more easily distributable, and to allow
users multiple formats for documents.
Adobe Acrobat Reader is offered free by Adobe Systems. Reader
allows users to view and print highly complex documents that
retain their original formatting by using the PDF format.
You can download
the FREE Acrobat Reader from Adobe's site.
To save PDF files to your computer, right-click the link,
then choose "Save Target As." Or, just double-click
and it will open in your browser window.
Printing Suggestions for PDF files:
You may specify the pages you wish to print by going to your File menu in your
browser and select Print, then click Pages and enter the page numbers you
wish to print. For pages that are larger than 8.5 x 11, use the 'Auto-Rotate
and Center' option when printing.
