Have you or someone you know ever thought about becoming
Catholic? We would love to hear from you and help you explore
the Lord's call! St. John the Apostle Parish would like your
help in surfacing names of potential candidates for our upcoming
R.C.I.A. Program. Perhaps you have thought about becoming
Catholic yourself, or maybe you know of a family member or
friend who might be interested.
What is R.C.I.A.? R.C.I.A. (the Rite of Christian Initiation
of Adults) is the ordinary way in which adults who were not
raised in the Catholic faith become fullly initiated into
the Roman Catholic CHurch thorugh Baptism, Confirmation and
Holy Eucharist. The Program is exciting, fulfilling, inspiring,
and enriching. We know that you will enjoy the process!
Who is R.C.I.A. for?
* Someone who was baptized Catholic, but then never received
any other Sacraments;
* Someone who was baptized into a different faith or Church;
* Someone who was never baptized at all and is just beginning
their faith journey.
It is for people from all walks of life and faith backgrounds
who are curious about the Catholic Church, and who have at
some time and on some level considered joining!
When does it meet? Classes will begin on Monday, September
17, 2007. We will meet each Monday evening from 7:00 PM to
8:30 PM in rooms 1 & 2 of the Parish Center.
Sponsors are needed as well! Are you a practicing confirmed
Catholic who would like to walk this faith journey with a
candidate or catechumen as a sponsor? Give us a call as well.
How do I inquire or register? Call or email Ted Spinelli,
Director of Religious Education, at 703-777-3891 or DRE@stjohnleesburg.com.
You can inquire to register for the classes, to ask questions,
and gather more information, or simply to give us the name
of someone you think might like to be contacted.
Prayerfully consider giving us a call. There is no cost for
this R.C.I.A. Program, nothing to lose and everything to
gain! Thanks and God bless.
