Build Your Faith►
We welcome you to St. John the Apostle Catholic Church! We are a faith-based community located in Leesburg, VA.
St. John The Apostle Roman Catholic Church maintains a rich history in Leesburg, Virginia. The founding date of our chapel on King Street, Immaculate Conception Chapel, dates back to 1878. We are proud of this 130 year-long presence where the image of the Twelfth Station of the Cross reminds us of our patron saint. There the Apostle John stands at the foot of the Cross with Our Lady on Calvary.
St. John the Apostle Catholic Church is a parish of the Catholic Diocese of Arlington, Virginia.
Our pastor is Rev. Kevin Larsen. We invite you to read the welcome message from our pastor.
Our Parochial Vicar is Rev. Michael Kelly. If you are new to the area, we extend you a warm welcome to this beautiful part of the country in Loudoun County, VA. We invite you to learn more by visiting our Faith Resources Page → and join with us in our faith journey together.
We are an active parish of people who serve, as evidenced by the wide range of ministries available directly at our parish and also outreaching into the community. As Christ taught us, His Church IS the people. We welcome you wholeheartedly to become involved at St. John's!
Tuesdays at 9:00 am through Fridays at 8:30 am in the Chapel
An adorer is present at all hours, those coming after the chapel is locked for the night can knock on the front door (not the glass) to be let in.

Being registered as a parishioner effects ability to enroll in our Religious Education classes, as well as receiving certain Sacraments.
Registering with the parish and using our offertory envelopes or signing up with Faith Direct also makes it easier for us to accurately track your donations for tax purposes.
For instructions register or to see and submit changes to your existing registration online please see our Parish Registration Page
To have a child baptized at our regular parish baptisms they must be under 7 years old and the parents must be registered parishioners of St. John the Apostle. Parents must complete a Baptismal Registry Form for their child and register for a mandatory class which is typically offered on the 1st Saturday of each month, if you attended the class within the last two years you do not need to re-take the class. Godparents must have a sponsor certificate from their home parish, and may use our Sponsor Certificate Form or their home parish's form. *Please note, there is a three month waiting period for new parishioners who are asked to be godparents or sponsors.*
Children 7 & 8 years do not need to go through the full RCIA or RCIC program but must take a seperate special Sacraments class before being baptized.
People 9 years old and older must go through RCIA or RCIC to be baptized.
Please contact Parish Office at (703) 777-1317 for more information on scheduling a child for Baptism.
See here for more information on the Sacrament of Baptism from the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Couples registered as parishioners of St. John the Apostle wanting to begin Pre-Cana marriage preparation through our parish should contact a parish priest directly to schedule a meeting.
We are able to host weddings for couples from outside our parish. However, our parish priests are not available to prepare additional couples or celebrate the weddings for non-parishioner couples. Please contact your home parish to begin pre-cana marriage preparation and arrange for a celebrant to come to our parish.
For more information on how to schedule a wedding in our parish and possible wedding dates, please see our Wedding Agreement and call the parish office (703) 777-1317 or email our Office Manager.
See here for more information on the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony from the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

St. John the Apostle, the son of Zebedee and Salome, was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus. John was called to be an Apostle by our Lord in the first year of His public ministry. He is considered the same person as John the Evangelist, John of Patmos and the Beloved Disciple. John's older brother was St. James the Great, another one of Jesus' Twelve Apostles. Jesus referred to the brothers as "Boanerges," meaning "sons of thunder." John is believed to be the longest living apostle and the only not to die a martyr's death.
